Privacy policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
The short version
- Your photos and videos never leave your device through Keepsie. We can't see them.
- There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking of what you do in the app.
- If you buy Paws+, the purchase is handled by Apple and recorded by our purchase provider, RevenueCat.
- If you use iCloud sync (part of Paws+), your choices are stored in your own iCloud, which we can't access.
Who we are
Keepsie is a small, family-owned app made by a team of two ("we", "us"). You can reach us at keepsieapp@gmail.com.
Your photos and videos
Keepsie asks for access to your photo library so it can show you your photos and videos to sort. You can give access to your whole library or to selected items, and change this at any time in the Settings app.
- Photos and videos are read and displayed on your device. Keepsie does not upload them, copy them to a server, or share them with anyone.
- Looking for similar and blurry shots happens entirely on your device.
- Keepsie only changes your library when you ask it to: marking a favorite, adding a photo to an album or creating an album, and deleting photos you have confirmed. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for about 30 days.
- When you open a photo's details, the place it was taken is looked up using Apple's location service on your device. Apple's handling of that request is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
What Keepsie stores on your device
To work, Keepsie keeps the following on your device:
- which photos you kept and which you set aside (as identifiers, not the photos themselves)
- your settings, your cat's name and coat, your streak, fish treats, and desk decorations
- the results of the similar and blurry shot scan
Deleting the app removes this from the device.
iCloud sync
Sync is part of Paws+. If you have Paws+, sync is turned on in Keepsie and you are signed in to iCloud, the items listed above are saved to your own private iCloud storage so your other devices can pick up where you left off. This data is stored by Apple under your Apple Account. We do not have access to it. Your photos themselves are not synced by Keepsie. You can turn sync off in Keepsie's settings, and manage or delete Keepsie's iCloud data in the Settings app under your Apple Account.
Purchases
Paws+ subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment card or billing details.
To know whether Paws+ is active, Keepsie uses RevenueCat, a purchase management service. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier, your purchase history for Keepsie (which product, when, and its status), and basic technical information such as app version, device type and country of the App Store account. It does not receive your name, email address or photos. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or collect your name, email address or phone number.
- We don't include advertising or third-party advertising tools.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't use analytics that record what you do inside the app.
- We don't sell or share personal data.
Reminders
If you allow notifications, Keepsie schedules reminders on your device. They are created locally; no reminder data is sent to us.
Information from Apple
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple gives us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as download counts and crash reports. These do not identify you.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you describe.
Children
Keepsie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
